SA TALAIA
The multipurpose room is an open and pleasant space, ideal for the development of artistic work. This room, a work station for the residences, consists of 6m long x 4.20m wide 3.5m high, as well as another room of 2.5x4x3.5.
It was premiered in 2018 and many groups have already done work, such as the Hermanas Picohueso company, Shaddai Teatro, Aina Compte, the Latin American Meeting of Emerging Dramaturgy of the CLT (creation and dramatized reading by various Balearic creators), or the company Teatrapo Teatro de Colombia .
In addition, at Su Atalaya we also find an office space, a kitchen, an assembly room (8.5 m long x 5m wide x 4m high) and a warehouse (7 mx 5m x 6 m) high with attics of 5m x 2m x 2m. These are the spaces where residents come into direct contact with the T-SHOCK production company, or the Culture workshops
Emotional that develop right there. In this way, a common place of work and knowledge exchange is generated, from which they could exclusively dispose of the office and the kitchen and bathrooms, which is a common area.
Sa Talaia manages full time artistic production and creation residencies in the space itself, Can Timoner and the Teatro Principal de Santanyí.
It has an independent history of eight years and can host up to 12 creators in the same project, providing both a dance room, as well as two multipurpose rooms, and 4 different stage spaces. As well as a technical residency at the Santanyí theater and an international premiere screening through the independent S'Illo Festival.
Beyond stage production, it is a project created and managed by the production company TSHOCK - Cultura Emocional, which investigates the study of emotion from its biophysical perspective, differentiating it from the psychology of feeling. His workshops and research have been given at different Spanish and South American universities.
Being a research center, it also welcomes all the scenic disciplines that investigate this aspect and accompanies their productions, dramaturgies or exhibitions. Also offering residencies of textual creation with possible dramatized reading and follow-up to the playwright.
Some other entities collaborate in different ways, such as the S'Illo Festival Spectators Association, the Latin American Theater Corridors Festivals (CLT), the Matacandelas Theater Monologues Festival in Medellín, Santiago Off de Chile, the City Council of Santanyí, Balearic Government, etc.
Thus, the purpose of these residencies are:
- The promotion of professional careers and creative processes of montage, as well as the visibility and knowledge of artistic projects and their results.
- The promotion of the creative processes of emerging artists, as well as processes of documentation, artistic research and management.
- The promotion of synergies between artists, cultural associations, the people and entities twinned with the Tshock production company in other countries.
- The investigation of the interpretive technique, understood as dance, performance and music, related to emotion and feeling.
- Advise the executive and technical production and distribution.
CAN TIMONER
cultural center of the town.
This space has been the residence center managed by T-SHOCK for many years until the birth of Su Atalaya. Can'n Timonero, but continues to be associated and linked in our center, forming part of the artistic residencies as an accommodation space.
It is a 600-square-meter house where the staying residents share a room (one for 5 people and two more for 3 and 4 people, for which residences of up to 12 people can be managed).
At Can'n Timonero different associations and artists of any discipline coexist throughout the year, who also support local artistic and social creation, as well as yoga, knitting and sewing workshops, the digital world, etc. This meeting creates relationships and even collaborations between different entities.
The space has a kitchen, two bathrooms, a shower, three terraces and different recreational spaces for residents, for community use.
THEATER
MAIN OF SANTANYI
This building, built in Santanyi stone, was inaugurated as a cinema
in 1925, being in operation for more than half a century. Years later it was bought by the City Council, which restored it keeping the original structure, opening the doors as a theater in 2007.
It maintains a stable program all year long, where the performing arts and other activities such as book presentations, conferences, etc. have a place.
Thanks to the joint work with the city council, Su Atalaya can offer its residents technical residencies, rehearsals on stage, and a preview of the show. *
